Search Engine Optimisation

Search engine optimisation is the reason your customers find your website. Someone once said

"Without search engine optimisation, your website doesn't have a purpose."

And it's true! When we design a website for one of our clients, we create it with SEO (Search engine optimisation) in mind. We have recently developed a new system called digiCMS. What this system does is allow you to define keywords for each individual page on your website. This feature along with many others boost your websites page rank with Google & other search engines, bumping you to the top of Google!

Search Engine Optimisation Blocks

You may be baffled by the different types of search engine optimisation, but that's where we come in. There are two main types of search engine results.

Organic search results

These are the results that you want. These results are organic, so when someone types in plumbers cornwall, you come top of the listings. Do not get this confused with search engine marketting. This is the process of registering your web site with a search engine & bidding for clicks & impressions of your name on Google.

Organic results are based on your web sites contents, its rank and its links. There are many other factor which affect your rating such as your websites code quality & your ability to stick to standards. These results really are a true representation of which website will suit the person who made the search. You cannot directly control these results, that's why it is so difficult.

Paid results

Paid results are defined by the ammount the business is willing to pay per click or impression. This works on a bidding system, so you can pay as much or as little as you like. This route to gaining more visits to your website may not be the way for you.

This option will didplay your website on the far right of Google, and most people these days just 'blank out' these results. They don't do it intentionally, but they tune out and look at the organic results. The organic results are directed to the user in a different way and are more accurate. That's why they choose them over paid results.

What else can I do?

It may seem confusing all this computer talk, but to put it simply, to get your website up on Google, you willl need to have a web site that contains fresh content which is relavent and useful. Links on websites are also very good, but the quality of the links are also very important.

Relavant links from your web site will boost your page rank as Google see this as you trying to help the user of your website.

A content management system will help you edit your websites keywords, description & content with ease. All you need to do it login, click edit page & you can edit your website as if it was a Microsoft Word document. We at Bonfield Digital Studios offer a complete CMS (content management system) which will give you the freedom to change your website when you want, and allow you to contantly improve your search engine ranking.
